Tereza Ondrová, Peter Šavel: As Long As Holding Hands [NuDanceFest 2018]

In their latest project, the Czech–Slovak creative duo Ondrová – Šavel set on a quest of exploring different faces of romantic relationships that know no gender or generational limits. Two people, two bodies, two independent entities fight for love and keep exploring the limits of modesty and loss of identity, dependence and sharing, honesty and pretence, love and hatred. They confront ideas about an ideal relationship with the reality of what it means to truly build a romantic relationship, as transformed into expressive bodily images.

The movement between Tereza and Peter emerges through incessant communication between “I and Thou”, in harmony as well as disagreement, with and without poise. With humour and passion, open to each other and one for another, together with spectators they set on a journey through relationships. Each seemingly dead-end situation is an impulse for the repeating question: Do you still want to hold my hand?
