Leto v galérii: Dance performance Deliberate Waiting

Neskorý zber presents an adaptation of a dance perofrmance Deliberate Waiting.

Deliberate Waiting is created as a sequence of scenes showing different themes - intimacy, femininity, waiting, respect, irritation, loneliness. The scenes intend to reveal the souls of the dancers. The unifying element is a linear underflow stream, a sort of basso continuo, which runs along the performance. The scenes reflect relationships we have towards others and ourselves. They are sequences of questions and the viewer can look for the answers in the underflow stream, which resembles whispering – if you want to hear, you need to listen.

Dramaturgy, which has risen from the logic of the creative process, accepts power and differences within the group. This creates, affects and reacts to the inner dynamics of the performance and it can be called ‘organic dramaturgy´. Performers and authors are mature dancers and choreographers, who lead a dialogue of leaders with courage and modesty.

The ambition of the performance is to communicate current topics with the audience. Dancer in middle age is rarely perceived as up-and-coming and attractive. This is a paradox because that is actually when they are able to define questions and offer answers without restrictions thanks to their experiences. The ability to dream in spite of the scepticism and exhaustion of the middle age is the secret ingredient of this performance.
