Michal Freriks & Collective: Opening [premiere]

The New Synagogue replaces the lost theater studio S2 and in August we host the residence of choreographer Michal Freriks with three performers from Russia and Portugal, who were supposed to work on their new performance in the S-two.

We invite for the premiere on 4th September:
"To allow a new and as yet unknown potential to enter not only into one's work but also everyday life is only possible if we open ourselves to our present possibilities.
There are far more of these than we believe, yet we can only work with those we are currently able to perceive.
The three dancers share the space with their audience.
They unlock its possibilities, get lost in it, find and offer themselves through their intimacy, such as is expressed in dance.
There is space not only around us, but also within us, we can accept as well as create it.
To find space within oneself is a great challenge which requires relying on one's own abilities.
As they uncover the broad theme of opening, the performers pass through space together, yet never losing their respective individuality."
