It doesn't matter whether you think you can dance or not. We, in SKOK! think, everybody can dance, each in their own way. And that's exatcly it, just dance! That's what our party is here for. Dance it all out without much of a discussion.

PERFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE I. / Rhythmic silence
International Dance Day workshop SPECIAL with dancer Matthew Rogers (USA)

“Performative moments in life challenge us to commit to a shared experience. And in that we are offered the freedom to meet ourselves and others with fresh eyes.
In this workshop we will explore the group action of creating stillness and then uncovering the potential within it.
Based on my recent studies of physical rigor, honest disclosure and the erotic nature of dance we'll use dance games to activate our curiosity and playfulness. Returning again and again to the absurdity, fragility and calming states of stillness, we test the passage of time.” Matthew Rogers

The workshop concludes with an extended performative experience shared with whomever is present at Záhrada.

90 DANCE MINUTES IN FILM

It's not easy to find dance film genre on Netflixe. Don't even look for it! We invite you to a screening of several dance films in the fresh air of the April evening Zahrada. Sit down in the exterior of the cultural centre, don't forget to order your favourtie drink and let yourself float with the magic force of the motion picture, where there isn't much talking involved but much is said by the bodies in motion.

New version of Karaoke, at which you don't sing, but dance - imitate what you see in the played music video! If you haven't come across this phenomenon, don't hesitate and join us! Just let your worries go and you will remember this evening forever. Refresh of body and soul 100% guaranteed. The more of us in front of the screen, the more fun it will be. In this case, we speak about the positive force of crowd.

International Dance Day HAPPENING

The dance weekend with SKOK! will reach its peak on Sunday with the public presentation of the workshop SPECIAL led by an American dancer Matthew Rogers in the exterior of Záhrada.
