The Ján Palárik Theater, Malý Berlín Cultural Center, Dušan Nebyla Dance Conservatory and the Alegria Dance and Movement Studio have decided to jointly create a long-term program and educational initiative called the Dance Plan for Trnava. Its aim is to acquaint the audience of Trnava with contemporary dance and performative art. Originally, the activities of this initiative were to start in early March. Some time ago, we closed the registration of artists for the SLOVAK DANCE PLATFORM 2020. A total of 51 works were submitted, of which 34 works were included in the selection. Unfortunately, we could not classify some of the works because they did not meet the set criteria. Due to unexpected events related to the Covid-19 crisis, the schedule for the selection of performances by the platform's dramaturgical board was suspended. March was the month of dramatic changes. Slovakia has a new Minister of Culture and we are hoping for better dialogue between her and all art fields including contemporary dance one. At the same time a global crisis caused by COVID-19 has put everything to halt. At the end of March  PlaST representatives sent a letter to the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic Natalia Milanová, introducing association Plast and outputs of several of our mapping projects from the past, offering complex information about the local dance scene which will be very needed in tackling the crisis.

We recently closed the application for the Slovak Dance Platform 2020. There were 51 works submitted, 34 of which met the criteria. PLaST has received public funding support by Slovak Arts Council in 2020. Thanks to this we will be able to initiate many new activities. We continue in the project of discussions and analysis of local dance pieces called Dance Season. In Autumn we will again organize a round table, which will focus on current works, creators, tendencies, potentials.
