Viktor Černický (CZ/SK): PLI [Bratislava in Movement 2019]

Bratislava in Movement festival presents: Viktor Černický (CZ/SK): PLI

22 office chairs and a strictly limited space
PLI is a new project on the border line between dance, circus and performance by Viktor Černický. In this physical reflection of Leibniz’s philosophy a single performer throws himself fully for schizophrenic reconstruction of the Universe. Whether it is the architecture of space or design of our thoughts, PLI is confronting these fragile structures with endless human dynamics.

I got interested in the fold when reading the magical-realistic trilogy Our Ancestors by Italo Calvino and the striking philosophical text The Fold by Gilles Deleuze, in which Deleuze describes the Baroque period especially from the point of view of Leibniz´s philosophy. The initial idea to create a performance with the topic of a fold grew from Calvino´s bending of the reality and fiction and from Leibniz´s need to reflect the reality with outgrows us as individuals.
