The Nature of Us [international cooperation]

The Nature of Us is a joint residency project of four Central European organisations:

Bazaar Festival (CZ),

PlaST (SK),

polka dot (PL)

Műhely Alapítvány / Workshop Foundation (HU)

It wants to encourage new approaches and solutions in artistic practice in the context of the current climate change. It is committed to connect dance and performance artists with local ecological experts, it wants to encourage them to think collaboratively in order to raise more awareness of the natural world problems among Central Europeans.

The project includes the realization of research residencies for 4 Central European artists or collectives, the participation of artists in the Opening Lab at the Bazaar Festival Prague (30. - 31.08.2021), which aims to create an interdisciplinary platform between artists and scientists, and the realization of the final conference Nature of Us (19. - 31.08.2021). - 21.05.2022) on the island of Sobieszewo near Gdansk, which will connect Central European scientists and artists and enable a direct dialogue between the sectors as well as the possibility of consultations directly on the upcoming art project.

The project is supported by the Visegrad Fund.

Out of 33 submitted projects, a committee composed of representatives of the partner institutions selected 4 projects, each from a different country, taking into account their innovativeness, artistic credentials and a clear description of the project's intentions as well as a dialogue between art and science as an element of artistic research. Each selected project represents one of the partner countries and will be given the opportunity to carry out a residency in another partner country.
