The dancing and even the everyday body communicates in an unceasing stream of non-verbal codes. Consciously and subconsciously. It is in a constant performance of itself, so that it recognizes not only itself, but that its identity, uniqueness, type of current activity or mood are identified (or deliberately not able to be identified) by other bodies as well. How to expose the body as an object and amplify the fluidity of this process without interacting with it as a subject? How to install and exhibit a living body in non-movement without choreographic and theatrical temporality, in time without past and future?

The performative example study Non-activity is the second in a series of artistic research on the topic Body in the gallery produced by Skrzprst, o.z. in cooperation with Yuri Korec & Co. It is a continuation of the first study with the title Expose to the body, which was created in collaboration with art theorist Michaela Hučko Pašteková in June 2023. Choreographer Juraj Korec, in collaboration with male and female performers, explores the exposure of a living body in a gallery environment through the lens of choreographic procedures.
