ANSWER_ring

ANSWER_ring is a movement performance by Barbora Janáková in the production of mimoOs.

A visual and movement-based creation in a space where intimate testimony meets collective experience. Two performers find themselves in an imaginary ring – not against each other, but against the questions that catch up with us all faster than we can verbalize them.

Two distinctive performers – an exceptional dancer and an authentic performer – meet on stage. Their different worlds of expression complement each other, colliding and creating a tension that is both sensitive and physically powerful. It is their contrast that allows the different levels of questioning posed by the work to open up – from the intimate to the social.

It is a struggle with uncertainty, ecological crisis, the pressures of engagement, exhaustion, and the longing for meaning. Here, silence is transformed into a scream, doubt into movement, and physical presence into a way of understanding a world that is constantly changing.

The work was born out of a need to talk about living in a time that seems to have no answers. We are constantly questioning whether we are engaged enough, whether we can do more, and whether it even matters if we are just one of many. The past may have taught us much, but its lessons quickly evaporate in the speed of today. What remains is doubt, silence, and an urgent desire to make a difference.
