Neskorý zber / Jurij Konjar
workshop

Tuning scores with Jurij Konjar (SLO)

Tuning Scores practice was developed by Lisa Nelson, an American dancer, improviser and choreographer, one of the prominent representatives of post-modern dance. Tuning Scores are tools with which a performer/dancer refines their perception of themselves and others, while expanding their range of possibilities making decisions in a free (improvised) composition.

Jurij Konjar (SLO) is a dancer, improviser and choreographer, who works in the field of improvisation and contemporary dance. His relationship with Tuning Scores started in 2010. For the past fifteen years, he has been constinuously researching, performimg, writing about and teaching improvisation. His improvised performances include Ulysses, Still, For Juliano Mer-Khamis, Monday at Eight (co-directed), Poka (co-directed), Biodegradables, A report for Contact festival Freiburg 2023 and Despite. Jurij teaches internationally, drawing on his performance-of-improvisation and writing practices, the Tuning Scores of Lisa Nelson, his working experience with Material for the Spine of Steve Paxton and on his practice of contact improvisation. He is the creator of the nomadic, shared working space called Habitat.
