Movement laboratorium: weak women dance

A week-long movement laboratory led by Eva Priečková and Zuzana Žabková, who have several years of experience in the practice of expanded choreography, movement improvisation, creative work, work with touch, active imagination, critical thinking, and group facilitation so that all voices are heard equally—especially those grappling with persistent oppression and indifference.
During their studies abroad (Germany, USA), they encountered a wealth of material focused on somatic practices and creative-critical thinking about dance and performance.

They would like to share this knowledge with a diverse group at Telocvičňa in Bratislava, building on the two artists’ several years of teaching experience, which has drawn an increasing number of people of all ages to dance and performance.We would like to focus the Movement Lab on the issues of critical thinking in dance and performance, the politics of bodies and relationships, and neoliberal tendencies in the fields of self-care and somatic dance. We would like to examine these problematic areas of dance education together and offer tools for fostering a sense of community, collaboration, and solidarity in times of social and environmental crises.

Would you hug each other longer than usual? Would you slowly melt to the ground and lie on top of each other? Would you slow down time and feel parasympathetic arousal? How much support do you give to others, and how much do you need yourself?
