Moments of Dance
The exhibition of photographs by acclaimed Slovak photographer Ctibor Bachratý captures dance performances from the previous years of the Bratislava in Movement Festival.

This festival is the largest and most comprehensive event in the field of contemporary dance in Slovakia and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The exhibition aims to present this genre to the general public.
We believe that the emotion radiating from these photographs will convince all those who still approach contemporary dance with some wariness of how to grasp its substance. Ctibor Bachratý´s photographs capture not only the aesthetics of the dance movement but this visual aspect of the productions as well, the narrative aspect of the movement compositions and the energy of dancer´s expression, their concentration and internal deployment. The photographs introduce the choreographic and theatrical value of the presented productions, keep alive the fleeting moments and present to the public this dance genre in large-scale photographs.
Ctibor Bachratý has photographed professionally since 1990. He specialises in theatre and dance photography and covering music festivals. Here gularly photographs performances of Slovakia´s foremost Professional theatres. He is resident photographer of film, music and theatre festivals Art Film Fest in Trenčianske Teplice and Košice, Pohoda in Trenčín, Bratislava in Movement, Divadelná Nitra.
