Maja Štefančíková is a visual artist and performer who explores the human body as a meeting point for narratives shared with plants, animals, and technologies. Her performative situations combine voice, movement, and structured choreography that remains open to interruption and the unexpected. Her recent work was presented at the micadanses in Paris and the National Gallery in Prague following her 2024 residency at the Pavilion of the Czech and Slovak Republics at the 60th Venice Biennale. She is an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, where she leads the Performance Laboratory.
