Anja Naňová is a Slovak performer, dancer, and creator who began her journey in dance at the Conservatory in Banská Bystrica, where she focused on classical, modern, and folk dance. Later, she expanded her education and perspective on movement by studying Dance Theatre and Performance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Her work in the artistic field is deeply connected with collaborations with prominent choreographers and visual artists of the Slovak scene, and as a performer, she has appeared in galleries, theaters, and other artistic or public spaces such as the National Gallery in Prague, Budapest Galéria, Galéria Umelka, Slovak National Theatre, LAB Theatre, Nová Cvernovka, as well as festivals like Encounter, Bratislava in Motion, and Kiosk. During her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts, she became interested in the study of ritual theory and the theme of psychophysical transformation achieved through integrating this theory into the creation of dance or performance works. She is fascinated by the topic of community and the creation of collective space through interaction with audiences and sharing intimacy within dance and performance.
