Choreography

1st Prize

“Single”

Choreography & Dance: Arnau Pérez de la Fuente – Spain
Arnau Pérez de la Fuente in “Single” created a refined choreography with a clever use of
music, prop, lights and costume as well as a dynamic dramaturgical and theatrical
development. The result unanimously touched the jury members.

 

2nd Prize

“The Essence”

Choreography & Dance: Eva Urbanová – Slovak
Eva Urbanová with “The Essence” showed an achieved movement vocabulary poetically
combining text and time. Her committed choreography draws us in her personal world.
The jury members are happy to recognise Ms. Urbanvá´s creative mind.

 

3rd Prize

“Legaxy xx”

Choreography & Dance: Breeanne Saxton – USA
Breeanne Saxton presented in her choreography “Legaxy xx” an ambiguos and intriguing
proposal touching themes of gender and perceptions of beauty. Through refined
theatricality and imagery, her piece managed to intertwine fantasy with truth, which was
both powerful and sensitive.

 

Dance
1st Prize

Clémence Juglet – France
Clémence Juglet´s performance In “I need to..” was executed with high precision and
cleverness. Ms. Juglet intelligently played with changes of dynamics with a relaxed sense
of humor and a sharp musicality. Her strong physicality and confident presence elevated
the original vocabulary of the choreography.

 

2nd Prize

Geovan Conceição – Brazil
Geovan Conceição´s personal and visceral performance in “FISSURAR” undoubtably
moved the jury members. Mr. Conceição with his expressive physicality and emotional
openness delivered a touching performance beyond technique.

 

3rd Prize

Tushrik Fredericks – South Africa
Tushrik Fredericks´s ritualistic performance in “The EQ of the heart” showed a profound
use of his inner energy and a high concentration. Mr. Fredericks ability to channel both
meditative and explosive mechanical movement qualities impressed the jury.

 

Assistance Prize 
Assistance Prize Dance Theatre Heidelberg

Jeremy Alberge´s choreography about trauma resonates in me and my
experiences. In “+10”, Mr. Alberge delivers a mature performance full of restrain and
emotional containment. It is a pleasure to award him with the Assistance Prize with Dance
Theatre Heidelberg.

 

Assistance Prize Nordharzer Städtebundtheater

It is my pleasure to give the Assistance Prize to Arnau Pérez de la Fuente
from Spain for his choreography “Single”. His work touches me deeply, it will be
wonderful to introduce him to the daily theatre routine.
